100th for Lockyer
KICKING 15 goals against Great Western last weekend has brought Michael Lockyer’s season tally to a creditable 100.

KICKING 15 goals against Great Western last weekend has brought Michael Lockyer’s season tally to a creditable 100.
Needing 14 to reach the magical milestone, Lockyer booted one more than required, much to the delight of senior coach Alec Wiltshire who sang his praises.
“Lockyer is always reliable in front of goals and to kick his 100th in front of a home crowd was something pretty special I’m sure,” Wiltshire said.
“And to make it even more remarkable, those 100 goals were kicked in 13 games because he missed a few rounds.”
Lockyer once again played a pivotal role in his team’s 236-point win over Great Western.
“It was a great team effort and a great way to end the home and away season,” Wiltshire said.
“After discussions with Great Western during the week it was decided we’d both play with 16, with no wings, so to get the score we did was pretty remarkable.”
Finishing third on the Mininera ladder, Lismore Derrinallum will now face Tatyoon in this Saturday’s qualifying final at Woorndoo.
“Last time we played Taty we lost by about 17 points so we’re keen to turn the tables this weekend,” Wiltshire said.
“We’ll be at full strength so I’m looking forward to the match up. They’ll be coming off a good win over Woorndoo Mortlake so they’ll be up and about too.”
Final scores last Saturday were Lismore Derrinallum 45.15.285 to Great Western 7.7.49.
Among the best for the Demons were Jack Pitts, Michael Lockyer, Beau Ketchen, Jesse Gallichan, Lachlan Isbister and William Beever.
Goals went to Michael Lockyer (15), Jack Pitts (7), Andrew Parkinson (6), Matthew Bacon (4), Jesse Gallichan (3), Lachlan Isbister (2), Darcy Robinson (2), William Beaver, Brodie Doolan, BeauKetchen, Rory Nunn, Steven Ryan and Daniel Westblade.
The reserves also enjoyed a big win over Great Western; final scores 26.17.163 to 1.2.8.
Best for the Demons were Ned Uren, Dale Marquand, Ryan Jeffery, Timothy Turner, Andrew Stewart and Jayden Brewer.
Goals went to Ryan Jeffery (8), Andrew Stewart (8), Liam Rigby (6), Kelly Brain, Bradley Fleming, Jason Torney and Jacob Willowhite.
The reserves finished second on the ladder and will face Glenthompson Dunkeld in the qualifying final at Woorndoo this Saturday.
