A clucking success
BIRD-LOVERS flocked to the Camperdown Showgrounds last Sunday for the Camperdown Poultry Club meeting.

BIRD-LOVERS flocked to the Camperdown Showgrounds last Sunday for the Camperdown Poultry Club meeting.
Poultry of all descriptions from across Victoria were presented between 10am and 1pm on the day, totaling 466 birds.
Poultry club secretary Clayton Horspole said it was a “fantastic” day.
“We had people from Melbourne, Ballarat through to Quantong, and got a lot of local exhibitors,” he said.
“We had two South Australian judges come over for the day; Malcom Fuller and Michael Hall.
“We just had an exceptional line-up of quality hard feather and soft feather fowl.
“We had 54 junior birds exhibited from nine exhibitors, which is a good number for the juniors.
Poultry on show included Opringtons, Bantam Japanese, Plymouth Rocks, Belgians, Modern Game and Old English Game.
The Champion Bird in Show went to Mitchell and Debbie Carrigan-Walsh with an Australian Game Bantam Black-Red Cockerel.
Reserve Bird of Show went to the MacDonald family with a Dark Barred Bantam Plymouth Rock Cockerel.
