A day of country fun for everyone
CAMPERDOWN College is inviting residents along to its annual fair, this time with a country twist.
A host of country-themed activities will be available on Friday, October 18 from 4.30-8pm, including a bucking bull, hobby horse races, and a variety of food stalls.
Camperdown College Parents and Friends Association president Sheree Horspole said the fair is a reimagining of the school’s annual summer fete, which is a time-honored tradition at Camperdown College.
“We’ve decided to change it to October to try something different,” she said.
“We haven’t been able to have one since COVID-19, so it was 2019 since we last had one.
“It’s just a community event to bring the community together because it has been a long time since we have been able to run an event like this.
“The kids have organised their teachers, so they will run each of those activities - the other bigger items are run by the Parents and Friends Association.”
MRs Horspole said a wide variety of attractions and activities would be on offer at the Brooke Street campus, including a jumping castle and stalls selling cakes, popcorn, fairly floss and ice cream.
“We’ve got an animal nursery coming in,” she said.
“We’re going to have a chocolate coin toss, bowling, lucky jars, face-painting, headband making, gumboot throwing, and more.
“We’ve got Pie Face – we’ll have a teacher sit down, and kids will be able to pay money to throw pies at teacher’s faces.
“We hope everyone from Camperdown can come down – everyone is welcome to join us.”
