A dry end to autumn
CAMPERDOWN, Lismore and Derrinallum finished autumn with a dry May this year with below-average rainfall.
Camperdown experienced 20.9mm of rainfall for the month of May.
The figure is significantly lower than last May’s total of 91.5mm.
The rainfall total is also notably lower than the long-term monthly average of 75.9mm.
Camperdown’s highest daily rainfall was recorded on May 31, where 5mm hit the ground.
To date, Camperdown’s rainfall total for 2024 sits at 138.3mm.
Meanwhile, Derrinallum received 16.2mm of rainfall for the month of May.
The figure is significantly below the long-term monthly average of 59.6mm.
The figure is also below last May’s total of 49mm.
The highest daily rainfall of the month was recorded on May 20, where 4.4mm of rainfall hit the ground.
To date, Derrinallum’s total rainfall for 2024 is 114.4mm.
Lismore recorded 12.6mm of rainfall last month, which falls below last year’s total of 51.4mm during the same period.
The figure is also significantly below the long-term monthly average of 54.5mm.
Lismore received its highest daily rainfall on May 31, when 4.2mm was recorded.
The rainfall total for Lismore this year currently sits at 100.3mm.
