A new venture for Camperdown pharmacy
A NEW addition to Camperdown’s HealthSave Pharmacy has caught the attention of residents recently.
The pharmacy began stocking Farm Door Riverina frozen meals last week, with a variety of nutritious foods to choose from.
Pharmacist Sarah Venn said the idea came from meeting with Farm Door Riverina at a pharmacy conference in Queensland earlier in the year.
“It’s an easy opportunity that we thought, with 60-day scripts impacting pharmacies, it’s a way we could pivot our business to get increased foot traffic,” she said,
“It’s easy, convenient and simple to help people at home with their meals.
“One plus is just the convenience factor – there’s a main meal size, there’s a small meal as well if you want kids’ meals, and there’s desserts.
“They cook it in Wagga Wagga in New South Wales, they freeze it, and they bring it down to us.”
Ms Venn encouraged residents to “give it a go”.
“It’s something different we’re going to try,” she said.
“Whether you want a quick meal on your way home because you’re not sure what you’re having for dinner, or for cost of living - they’re not too badly priced.
“If you go and buy a whole broccoli or a whole bag of carrots or a whole roast, there can be a lot of waste if you’re cooking it for yourself at home, whereas this is already portioned and ready to go.
“You can still have variety without the waste.”
