A PIECE of Noorat history has hit the open market.
Ray White Camperdown has listed the former Glenormiston Butter and Cheese factory for sale, presenting a unique opportunity to transform the iconic redbrick property in to a feature limited only by imagination.
The 99-year-old property rests on 2.5 acres at the foot of Mount Noorat, promising endless possibilities for what could be.
The property features sprawling former factory spaces, an eye-catching restored chimney and two newly renovated cottages.
Ray White Camperdown agent Toby Kent said the listing was a unique opportunity to own a piece of Noorat’s history.
“The building was originally constructed in 1924 and today still has the original signage and brickwork,” he said.
“The property features two little cottages at the front which are fully renovated and could be used for anything from renting out, accommodating workers or even as an Airbnb.
“The building has been reroofed and rewired, so it is essentially a blank canvas with plenty of opportunities for the new owners to explore.
“It is something which is just waiting for someone with the right flair to make it special.”
Mr Kent said it had been “amazing” how many inquires had been made.
“We haven’t received any offers yet but there has been no shortage of interest as we’ve begun taking inspections by appointment,” he said.
“I think it’s only a matter of time before the right buyer comes along.
“We’ve seen similar buildings used for brewing and distilling down towards the coast, for art exhibitions or even for manufacturing,” Mr Kent said.
“There is so much you could do with it and I think it would be special to see it get over the line.
“With something with so much history you don’t want to see it go to ruin, and I think the right person could really bring it back to life.”
