THE lines between fact and fiction blurred last week as some of the most iconic characters in literature were brought to life in schools across the region.
THE lines between fact and fiction blurred last week as some of the most iconic characters in literature were brought to life in schools across the region.
The costumes were part of the popular Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week festivities, which brings a range of activities and displays to schools, libraries and booksellers to highlight the importanceof reading.
The theme for Book Week 2022 was ‘Dreaming with eyes open’, which saw students take full advantage of the limitless creative options for their dress-ups and parades.
Superheroes, nostalgic characters from earlier years and Harry Potter were among some of the most popular options, but fun and connection was the clear winner of the week.
Panmure Primary School acting principal Scott Kenyon said students enjoyed a range of literary activities.
“Our school captains visited Allansford kindergarten to read the winning CBCA picture books to the kinder students,” he said.
