RAY White Rural Timboon’s Gerard Delaney and Rebekah Petersen are walking for a good cause this week.

The pair will walk from Timboon to Port Campbell on the 12 Apostles Trail in a bid to raise money for the Good Friday Appeal.

Mr Delaney said they will start to walk at about 8am on Thursday and expect the trek, which is more than 20 kilometres, to take about four hours 15 minutes.

“We’re tracking for about 11 minutes per kilometre,” he said.

“We hope to get in about lunchtime.”

Mr Delaney said the idea for the fundraiser came up at a roundtable recently and thought it would be a good one to pursue.

“We also wanted to publicise our new walking trail, which is huge for the towns,” he said.

Ms Petersen said she was looking forward to the walk.

“I’m absolutely happy to be involved,” she said.

“It’s for a good cause.”

As of Monday afternoon the fundraiser had raised more than $2300 and was edging towards the goal of $2500.

Mr Delaney said the original goal was $1000 which was quickly eclipsed.

“We’re overwhelmed by the response from people, it’s way more than we ever expected,” he said.

“It’s just amazing.”
