Athletes brave the cold
COBDEN Technical School students braved cold and blustery conditions last Tuesday for the school’s annual athletics carnival.

COBDEN Technical School students braved cold and blustery conditions last Tuesday for the school’s annual athletics carnival.
Rhys Sargood had a great day out, breaking records in both the under 13 100m sprint and the under 13 long jump.
His 100m time of 12.93 seconds smashed the previous record of 13.39 (which had been standing for nine years) while in the long jump he jumped 4.35m, beating Willoughby Perriss’ record of 4.16m set in 2017.
Amid loud cheering and colour, students from all year levels participated in several events – with the overall winners’ trophy going to Glenfyne Gold on 705 points.
Shenfield Blue finished in second place on 661 points followed by Tandarook Red on 443.
Age group champions were as follows:
Under 13 – Rhys Sargood and Chali Robbins;
Under 14 – Felix Nguena and Iniminka Merrett-McKellar;
Under 15 – Noah Bignell;
Under 16 – Bradley Fratantaro and Tabitha Perriss;
Under 17 – Jayden Gass and Jacoba Henderson; and
Under 18-20 – Willoughby Perriss and Abbey Robbins.
