Barely a drop in January

JANUARY proved drier than average across the north of the Corangamite Shire.

JANUARY proved drier than average across the north of the Corangamite Shire.

In Derrinallum, just 10.4mm of rain was recorded for the month well below the long-term average for January of 42mm.

The highest daily rainfall for Derrinallum was recorded on January 18 which saw 3.6mm fall in 24 hours.

Lismore was slightly drier with 8mm of rain hitting the ground for the month.

The monthly figure was about a quarter of the long-term average of 39.4mm.

The wettest day for the month was January 18 which saw 5mm of rain fall.

Camperdown was the wettest month with 15.5mm of rain falling for the month, still well below the long-term average of 45.8mm.

The highest daily rainfall was 6mm which was recorded on January 18.
