Battle for wooden spoon

WITH only percentage separating Slugs and Ballbusters, the battle for the wooden spoon is on in Corangamite volleyball.

By wd-news

With only one round to go, Slugs snared their second win of the season to have Ballbusters looking anxiously over their shoulders.

Both teams’ performances against higher-ranked teams this week will decide the final positions – and pride is also at stake.

Poachers dropped both matches in round seven to give up second place to NOBTS who are looking the team most likely to trouble top side, Cooriemungle Bulls.

Freeballers and NOBTS were too athletic for the Poachers, who walked off the court dishevelled – their form has deserted them.

One round to go before the night of finals – can Bulls retain their form to win the winter pennant? Time will tell.

With the spring season starting on October 8, the association is open to teams and player interested in becoming involved.
