BELLIES were warmed at the Camperdown Community House’s first Winter Warmer held at the start of the month.

The first session, which served potato and bacon soup with cheese toasties and garlic bread, was booked out quickly.

Only five places remain for the July session on July 6.

Camperdown Community House co-ordinator Emily Mercer said everyone present had a wonderful time.

“We had a surprise visit from Eileen McKenzie who leads who facilitates our weekly music group, and she led everyone on a fantastic sing along which rounded out the whole event leaving everyone in great spirits and camaraderie,” she said.

“A huge thank you to Merle and everyone who helped make the day so good and delicious!

“We're looking forward to Kay's famous green chicken curry soup, which will be full of vegetables and goodness.

“This has been a fantastic new program, made possible by our incredible volunteer cooks and helpers.”

To book in for the July session, or the August 3 session, ring 5593 1403.
