Bloods in-form
TERANG Mortlake’s senior footballers are sitting comfortably in fourth position on the Hampden League ladder.
After a 20-point win over Hamilton last weekend, the Bloods now sit two games clear of the fifth placed Koroit and with three rounds of the home and away season remaining, look finals bound if their current form continues.
Talented Blood Will Kain added to his impressive goal scoring tally, kicking five majors for the day, while team-mates Ryley Hutchins, Alexander Moloney, Ryan Tanner, Lewis Taylor and Tyler Vickers each contributed one.
Final scores last Saturday were Terang Mortlake 10.7.67 to Hamilton Kangaroos 6.11.47.
Among the best for the Bloods were Harvey Roberts, Dylan Jones, Ryan O’Connor, Gus Bourke, Will Kain and Ryley Hutchins.
The final three rounds will see them up against Koroit, third-placed Warrnambool and Cobden (sitting sixth).
Terang Mortlake’s reserves are sitting fifth, four games clear of their nearest rivals, Camperdown, and will also be playing finals after a successful home and away season.
Round 15 saw them celebrate a 12-point win over the Kangaroos in a low-scoring affair, 4.6.30 to 2.6.18.
Josh Brown (who kicked two for the day), Jake Lee, Tim Ackerley, Jack Lehmann, Henry Roberts and William Black were named in the best.
Jack Kenna and Lehmann also contributed a goal each.
Earlier in the day the Bloods under 18s went down by 56-points to the second-placed Kangaroos, 1.2.8 to 9.10.64.
Kai Crawley kicked the side’s only goal while Tyler Vickers, Henry Carroll, Jack Fowler, Mitchell Hughes, Brodie Odonohue and Lachlan McNicol were in the best.
The Bloods’ open netballers put in a big effort against the Kangaroos but fell just two goals short, going down 54-56.
