ROUND 10 proved a tough one for Camperdown, who were defeated in all games of football and netball by the in-form Terang Mortlake last weekend.

The Magpies, coming off a narrow four-point loss to Hamilton the previous week, now sit in sixth position on the Hampden ladder, just percentage behind the Warrnambool Blues in fifth.

Last Saturday’s opening quarter saw the Bloods get an early five-point lead, which they held going into the main break after a scoreless second term from both sides.

The Magpies struggled to add to the scoreboard in the third term, allowing the visitors to add four goals, two behinds to their tally to stretch the gap out to 31 points by the end of the quarter.

The final term saw the home side regroup and make better use of the ball, however, they were unable to close the gap and went down by 31-points, 6.8.44 to 11.9.75.

Best for the Magpies were Zach Sinnott, Riley Arnold, Archie McBean and Joshua Place.

Sam Gordon booted four majors for the Magpies and was well supported by Zach Sinnott with two.

Camperdown’s reserves, who currently sit on the bottom of the ladder with just one win to their name, also struggled against the Bloods, going down 2.9.21 to 17.8.110.

Devon Coates, Nelson Loader, Dale McDowell, Xavier O’Connor and Kelby White were named among the best while Darryll Eldred and Stephen Walters were the side’s only goal kickers.

Terang Mortlake’s under 18.5s dominated Leura Oval, defeating the home side by 80-points, 14.15.99 to 3.1.19.

Wilba Cheeseman, Brock Stephens, Scott Londregan, Joseph Gleeson, Eddie Baker and Logan Mahony all worked hard for the Magpies and were named in the best.

Goals went to Tarkyn Love (2) and Wilba Cheeseman.

Camperdown’s netballers also had a tough day on the courts, with no wins recorded for the round.
