SOPHIE Hinkley has been re-appointed open netball coach for the Cobden Bombers for season 2023.
SOPHIE Hinkley has been re-appointed open netball coach for the Cobden Bombers for season 2023.
Hinkley coached the open side to a grand final appearance earlier this month but fell five goals short of premiership glory, falling to this season’s Hampden League powerhouse South Warrnambool.
Announcing Hinkley’s appointment earlier this week, the club issued a statement saying Sophie had been an “incredible asset to the Bombers” since moving back to the south west regionin 2019.
“We are continually in awe of her professionalism, dedication and the standards she sets for herself in this role,” thestatement read.
“Sophie’s understanding of the game is outstanding. Teamed with her ability to assess a game, prioritise a skill, then break it down to a foundation level for future training sessions – she is every club’s dream coach.
“Her holistic approach to coaching has led to enormous personal growth within our playing group this year and we look forward to watching this develop further in 2023.”
The club also hopes to see Sophie (who recently had her second child) take to the court in the open division next season.
The Bombers anticipate further coaching announcements in the coming weeks.
