Bombers re-sign Casey
DAN Casey has re-signed with the Cobden Bombers as senior coach for 2023.
DAN Casey has re-signed with the Cobden Bombers as senior coach for 2023.
Casey, who joined the Bombers this season after a two-year hiatus from footy, confirmed his re-appointed earlier this week.
“Pre-COVID I was with the Imps and after having a couple of years off I was thrilled to be approached by the Bombers for this season,” Casey said.
“It’s a great club to be around; great people with a great vibe. I’m honoured that the club has faith in me to lead again in season 2023.”
Casey will again be supported by assistant coach Jake Evans and while the pair are looking forward to continuing in their positions next season, they have their eyes firmly set on the remaining few rounds and the finals series.
“We’re both thrilled to be re-appointed for next season, but our immediate focus is on what’s left of the home and away rounds and then finals.”
Casey confirmed the Bombers’ recruiting committee had been hard at work securing players for the 2023 season and said he was confident the current playing group would return.
“To my knowledge, all our players will be back in the Bombers jumper next year which is great news,” Casey said.
“We’ll be working hard to reward those players for their commitment; giving them the opportunity next year to work our way up the ladder."
“It’s an exciting club to be around; the future looks bright.”
