RETURNING Bombers Brody Mahoney and Jesse Williamson will be a welcome boost to Cobden Football Netball Club for season 2023.

RETURNING Bombers Brody Mahoney and Jesse Williamson will be a welcome boost to Cobden Football Netball Club for season 2023.
The club recently announced Mahoney would return to the club next season in a co-coaching role alongside Dan Casey – while Jake Evans will continue to support them as assistant coach.
Mahoney is highly regarded by the Bombers as an “outstanding player with an impressive football career to date.”
His approachable nature and passion for the club makes him the perfect fit for this leadership role.
Brody was part of the Bombers’ senior list for five years between 2013 and 2017, spending 2015 with North Ballarat.
More recently, in 2018 and 2019, he played at Central Districts in South Australia.
He then returned to the region and continued to play at the highest level he could, playing for the Colac Tigers in the GFL for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Mahoney’s playing career highlights include four Hampden League representative sides, twice named in the Hampden team of the year and was Hampden’s football rising star in 2013.
On a club level, Mahoney has won numerous awards including club best and fairest in 2017 (after finishing runner-up in 2016 and third in 2013-14) and the Barry English award in 2017.
The club is also thrilled with the return of Jesse Williamson for 2023.
Williamson is a 100-plus game player for the Bombers and a previous Hampden League representative player.
In his previous seasons with the club, Williamson has been an influential player both on and off the field and the club is looking forward to once again watching his craft along the wing while guiding some of the younger players around him.
