Brown nominates local club for grant
OLYMPIC gold medallist Grace Brown has once again put her hometown at the forefront, nominating the Camperdown Cycling Club as a Woolworths Sports Grant recipient.
As the official sponsor of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams for Paris 2024, Woolworths offered each selected athlete a Woolworth eGift card to donate to an Australian grassroots sports club that holds special significance to them.
The Camperdown Cycling Club is excited to be nominated by Brown, with the money to go towards benefiting the club in the upcoming season.
“The Camperdown Cycling Club is excited to be nominated by Grace Brown for this grant, which will be used in numerous ways in the coming year,” club spokesperson Jocelyn Clark said.
“We thank Woolworths for the donation, and Grace for seeing us as a worthy recipient.
“Programs such as the Woolworths Grassroots Program help develop the love of sport in participants, increasing inclusion with a sense of belonging to a club. This creates healthy lifestyles within our community and club members.”
The Camperdown Cycling Club will recommence weekly races at the start of daylight savings.
Anyone wishing to join the club, either as a social rider or as a competitor, is welcome to inquire via the club’s Facebook page.
