Bucket Squad victory

BUCKET Squad has taken out Timboon Basketball Association’s A grade men’s championship.

BUCKET Squad has taken out Timboon Basketball Association’s A grade men’s championship.

The team defeated Tenacious D 39-23 in an exciting A grade grand final last Wednesday night.

Ryley Hutchins was named the team’s MVP for the final.

He was well supported by team-mates Henry Roberts, Toby Roberts, Sam Lenehan, Jordan Fowler, Zane Field and Charlie Trotter.

In the B grade competition, Jets defeated Celtics 30-29, with Daniel Ryan named grand final MVP.

In the junior under 16 mixed competition, Breakers defeated Heat 50-43.

This was a highly competitive game, played in great spirits and sportsmanship.

The grand final MVP was Isaac Bedggood.

Congratulations to Breakers team-members Isaac Bedggood , Reid Webber, Odyan Waters, Tom ryan, Ruby Barwise and Patrick Barwise.

The Heat included Ryan Mottram, Mitchell Plozza, Ollie Makin, Boady Dwyer, Harvey Redshaw, Brock Savage and Jack Plozza.

In the under 12 mixed competition, Warriors defeated Bulls 23-17.

This was another hard fought game, with Sam Blain (Warriors) named the MVP.

Warriors’ was represented by Blain, Tahli Potter, Emily Lyne, Rory Hollick, Lachie Doolan, Deegan Sambell, Onyx Munro and Jhon Singh (with Jim Lyne as coach).

The Bulls comprised Cooper Doolan, Judd Doolan, Byron Woods, Harry Lawson, Jack Couch, Benji Newton and Jed Watson (with coach Sam Doolan).

Following last week’s grand final matches, presentations were held.

The most valuable player award in the senior men’s competition went to Mathew Joiner while Nicholas O’Connor was named the runner-up.

Under 12 coaches awards were as follows:

Warriors – Tahli Potter; Bulls – Harry Lawson; Jets – Lilly Morris; Lakers – Sacha Blain; Tigers – Alby Jones; and Magic – Martha Andrew.
