Busy week at Cobden
PLAYERS enjoyed good conditions for Cobden Golf Club’s ‘Week of Golf’ last week.
Monday’s Cobden Cup was won by Carmel Darcy, Ellen Darcy and Di McKenzie with 111 stableford points.
Individual winners:
A grade - Ellen Darcy 35 points, runner-up Deb Fitzgibbon 34 points on a countback from Marion Venn.
B grade - Di McKenzie 42 points, runner-up Julie Mahoney 36 points on a countback from Jeannine White 36 points.
C grade - Maria O’Rourke 39 points from runner-up Marie Smith 37 points.
Straightest drive went to Di McKenzie.
Nearest the pin: 4th(visitors) Brenda Elliott, 7th (local) Chloe Healey, 10th (visitors) Julie Mahoney and (local)Sherine Healey.
Balls down the line: Marion Venn and Jeannine White.
The ladies 4BBB ambrose on Tuesday (scratch) was won by Trish Sullivan, Alison Sinclair, Kate Cornelissen and Claire Lappin on 64 gross.
Scratch runners-up were Nellie Cashmore, Debbie Norton, Andrea Thompson and Judy Walsh on 67.
The handicap winners were Carmel Darcy, Jo Arundell, Julie Kenna and Linda Kenna 58.375 nett.
The runners-up were Janine Stevens, Chloe Healey, Donna Weller and Thelma Green 58.75 nett.

The ladies’ 4BBB stableford last Thursday was won by Heather Winchcombe and Bernadette Smith (Beeac) 36 points.
Runners-up were Kathy Burl and Pam Griffiths Payne (Peterborough) on 35 points.
Third went to Barb Hill and Gwenda Malseed (East Framlingham) 35 from fourth-placed Heather Haberfield (Timboon) and Di McKenzie on 34.
