Corangamite Arts Inc artists Daniel Dupleix, Andrea Townsend, Dianne Miller, Sue Hollingsworth, Yvonne Court, Elie Blackney, Barb Minchan and Gail Watson are all displaying their most recent works for the month of June.

Corangamite Arts Inc president Daniel Dupleix said the group meets every Thursday for a creative session.

“We meet up at the Art Shed at the showgrounds, and we all just do whatever the passion takes us to do,” she said.

“Some people are devout drawers, and every week they draw, some people paint, some people knit, some people do a bit of everything.

“We have workshops every now and then, and some of the workshops have inspired some of the work here.

“The prime motive is having fun, creating things and enjoying ourselves.”

Subjects include natural scenes of the Corangamite area, native Australian birds and native flora.

“There’s some really intense nature stuff, then there’s more experimental stuff as well. Fairly eclectic responses by different people,” Ms Dupleix said.

“It’s really an opportunity for our members to exhibit their work.

“We haven’t got a major focus.

“We ask that it be recent work of our members, so it reflects whatever they are doing at the moment.”

All artworks at this month’s exhibition are for sale, with Ms Dupleix encouraging residents to support local artists.

“Come and see it. Come and buy,” she said.

“A piece of our work on your wall is your ideal.”

The exhibition at 179 Manifold Street will run until the end of June.
