Calling all artists

ASPIRING musical artists have an opportunity to create original music with an acclaimed songwriter and producer thanks to a partnership with Moyne Shire Council.

By wd-news

Council is on the lookout for Moyne or south west-based emerging artists looking to advance their music careers through the free Moyne Sessions Pop-Up recording studio and song writing workshops program.

The program will support young artists aged 25 years and under in the recording, production and promotion of their original music.

Each Pop-Up artist will receive professionally produced track(s), a video clip of one song, as well as a song writing intensive and song-polishing workshop.

Artists recording their original music will additionally receive written feedback from Universal Music Group Australia.

Participants will be mentored by acclaimed songwriter and producer Cameron Deyell, best known for working with Australian songstress Sia on her Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling album, ‘This is Acting’.

Moyne Shire mayor Ian Smith said the program was a great opportunity for seasoned musicians or those just starting out.

“Cameron brings his experience and expertise to teaching the fundamentals of writing songs that connect, and polishing songs to be ready for recording,” he said.

“If you have songs that are ready to go, this program is for you.”

The sessions run between January 22-28, 2024.

Applications close on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Details and application forms can be found at www.moyne.vic.gov.au/Pop-Up.

The Moyne Sessions Pop-Up Recording program is funded through the Victorian Government FReeZA program.
