Cameron to lead Tigers
TALENTED premiership netballer Sarah Cameron has been appointed Tigers’ senior coach for season 2023.

TALENTED premiership netballer Sarah Cameron has been appointed Tigers’ senior coach for season 2023.
Cameron, a familiar face both on and off the court, has been named Woorndoo Mortlake’s A grade coach and will also lead the 15 and under side in next season’s Mininera League competition.
After a successful 2022 season, where Cameron was A grade co-coach alongside Kate Jubb - and also coached the Tigers’ undefeated 17 and under side to a premiership flag – she is keen to once again take on a leadership role next year and is looking forward to new challenges.
“I’m excited about the year ahead and really looking forward to seeing some of our younger players progress,” Cameron said.
“Initially I was hesitant about taking on the role as we will be away for seven weeks next year but there are plenty of capable people around me to take over during that period.
“We had a very young A grade side this season but in saying that they are very strong players and they did well to finish just out of the five.”
Cameron said while she was confident the Tigers would retain much of their playing group from the 2022 season, the club would be bolstered by the return of the likes of former A graders Georgia McCormick and Ashlea Spokes.
“Georgia and Ash will be able to give our younger players some added guidance on-court and it will be nice to see our numbers bolstered because this year more often than not several players were playing two games most weeks.”
With a daughter (Maddi) also to play in the 15 and under side, Cameron is keen to guide and encourage the younger Tigers.
“I think Maddi is pretty excited that I’m coaching her team as well, so that will be extra special. It will be exciting to watch them all develop as the season progresses,” Cameron said.
While the start of pre-season training is yet to be announced, Cameron is looking forward to catching up with players both old and new.
“I’m really excited for the season ahead and the challenges it will bring,” Cameron said.
Woorndoo Mortlake has also re-appointed Jenna Clark as B grade coach while the club’s netball coordinator, Rachael Krepp, will take on the C grade coaching role.
In the junior grades, Nicole Anderson will coach the 17 and under side while Abbey Burford and Taliah Kelly will lead the 13 and unders.
The club is yet to appoint a NetSetGo development coach.
