YOUNG girls across the district were able to improve their cricket skills thanks to a clinic at Pomborneit last Wednesday.

The Pomborneit Recreation Reserve was a haven of activity and excitement as more than 200 students from four local primary schools – Cobden Primary, Simpson Primary, Camperdown College and St. Patrick’s Primary – enjoyed a special clinic organised by the Pomborneit Cricket Club.

“We were thrilled to have Victorian and Melbourne Stars player Lucy Cripps down for the day to help us out, along with two Cricket Victoria representatives,” Pomborneit club secretary Luke Reynolds said.

“We’re also grateful for all the local support, including Ritchies IGA in Camperdown (donation of fruit and water bottles) and Wannon Water (drink bottles).

“We had a great turn out from our club members who were keen to help out which was also great to see.”
