FINE weather and sunshine greeted golfers at Camperdown for last Friday’s 28th Astrid Holm Cup.

Astrid was a founding club member at Camperdown and served as secretary for 42 years, from 1957 to 1966.

Not only was Astrid the ladies club champion 15 times between 1950 and 1966, she also enjoyed many other victories at regional and state level throughout her distinguished career.

Once again the day was well supported, with 23 teams of four representing clubs throughout the wider region playing 4BBB with one score to count.

The event was hotly contested and a countback was required to decide the winner – with two teams finishing on 51 points.

The Peterborough team of Karen Matheson, Pam Payne, Jenny DeJong and Kathy Burl claimed the cup.

The runners-up, from Camperdown, were Gayle Gill, Doreen Horan, Leah Cheeseman and Gabby Gill.
