Camperdown Little Athletes
Our last night of events for 2022 was held on Friday night with over ninety athletes in attendance.

Our last night of events for 2022 was held on Friday night with over ninety athletes in attendance.
All children patiently waited for the arrival of the man in red, who distributed lolly bags and listened the children’s wishes for Christmas.
We are so proud of the way our children waited and were polite and respectful.
We were also lucky to have three Warrnambool athletes come and participate in our program this week.
Little Athletics is a great way to make new friends, try new things and have the opportunity to be fit while having fun.
We were joined by Sophie, Chloe and Zavier (Sophie is a recent Warrnambool junior gift winner) who all showed great sportsmanship and who are hoping to join us again for another week at our centre, before the end of the 2022/2023 season.
With most of our groups, parents and committee dressed in Christmas clothes it was great to see the track lit up with amazing colour.
Lots of smiling faces, personal best results and chatter about presents and the upcoming holidays was had by all.
Camperdown Little Athletics would like to take this opportunity to thank Corangamite Shire for their grant, that has allowed us to install an new roller door in our club room storage area, which gives us space to allow for much easier and safer removal and return of our high jump mats to our clubrooms each week.
This grant allowed us to utilise local contractors, only last week, to make a very dangerous weekly operation much safer for our volunteers and helpers.
We would also like to thank Western District newspapers for their fantastic coverage of our weekly programme and results.
Being able to follow the results in the paper is a great way for those of us unable to access social media to connect and see what a fantastic night our weekly competitions are.
We are very grateful.
A very big thanks must go to our parent helpers, age group managers, committee and all of our athletes for helping to make the first half of our season a happy, fun and safe one.
We are grateful for the support that parent helpers give to our groups every week and it is no understatement to say that without them, our programs would not run.
Thank you so much.
With the Christmas break now upon us, we will return to competition for week two of our championship rounds on February 3 at 4:15pm for a 4:30pm start.
A program reminder will be posted to our social media in the week prior to competition restarting.
Please keep an eye out closer to the time!
Another important reminder, the region track and field carnival will be held at Llanberris oval in Ballarat on February 18 and 19.
Registrations for this event close during our break so please jump onto the LAVic website or contact Kristy, Kathy or Cindy for help with the registration process.
We would love to see as many Camperdown Little Athletics Athletes present on the day and joining us for a fun filled weekend.
This weekend is a very special one for our whole region with athletes from as far as Cohuna, Swan Hill, Portland and Horsham joining in for the 50th anniversary celebrations of our region.
A multiclass inclusion carnival will also be held, with Paralympic and world level para-athletes in attendance to help grow our sport for children with a disability.
It promises to be a big weekend with lots of great memories to build!
In closing we would again like to thank everyone for the first half of our season and the committee hope that all families have a safe, joyous, and love filled, happy Christmas and new year and we will see you back at the track (Camperdown college sports precinct) in the new year!
