DESPITE threatening rain more than 100 athletes enjoyed little athletics in Camperdown last Friday night.
The club hosted a Southwest Games traditional event night and despite the weather many personal bests were achieved, some learnt new skills and all had a great time.
This year the club has seen an increase in numbers and last Friday night attracted many “trialling athletes” for their first time.
The program ran slightly over time for some age groups and while there was good parental support, the nights do run better (and faster) with parent helpers.
A barbecue to celebrate the games raised some much-needed funds for the club at the end of the night’s events.
With the weather again looking a little “concerning” for tomorrow (Friday) night, a decision will be made at 2.30pm as to whether a full track program will go ahead or if the basketball stadium will be used for a skills-based session.
Notifications will be sent via social media on Friday afternoon.
A reminder that trialling memberships are still available for those interesting in attending and experiencing all that the Camperdown Little Athletics Club has to offer.
