Week ten of our program saw the weather again be kind to us with beautiful sunshine.

We welcomed a representative from the Cobden and Camperdown Community Bendigo bank to present us our grant and our new uniforms.

Camperdown little athletics is extremely grateful for the support that our local bank gives us and our new uniforms have already been on show at the recent region carnival with many commenting about how SunSmart and neat they are!

It was also fantastic to utilise the grant to purchase new starter tops, making them more visible on the track for all of our participants.

The rest of the night ran quickly and most events went smoothly with a great number of personal bests again being a highlight.

Camperdown’s little athletics participants enjoyed perfect weather for week nine of the program last Friday.

A number of personal bests were recorded and many smiling faces were seen around the track.

Our last night of the year is upon us this week and we will see our Christmas themed program, we ask that all parents bring a gold coin donation to go towards the Royal Children’s hospital appeal.

We would also love to see as many athletes, parents and committee getting into the Christmas spirit by wearing Xmas clothes!

Also available for sale will be, drinks, zooper doopers and sausages. An easy tea for all of our families.

Our last training session for the 2022 year was held last Monday, with 26 athletes joining in on our session at the Camperdown community stadium.

We wish to again thank Stuart Canavan for his expertise in training our young athletes, and also the stadium for allowing us use of their facilities.

A reminder to all parents that the region track and field carnival is being held on the weekend of February 17th in Ballarat. Entries for this are made via the link on the Little Athletics Victoria facebook or web page.

It is important to note that the entries for this event close during the Christmas break for our centre, so if you would like your children to be involved, please be mindful that entries must be received before the closing date for your child to be a part of what is great opportunity to compete on the synthetic track at Ballarat and to be part of what is expected to be a very special event in our region’s history.

This year our Western Country Region is celebrating its 50th birthday, and the carnival weekend event will involve a historical display, multi-class inclusion event and celebration cake.

It’s really something not to be missed!
