A GROUP of caravanners from Geelong enjoyed a week-long stay at Camperdown’s Lakes and Craters Caravan Park.
The contingent of 28 vans were part of an organised trip by the Geelong Caravan Club, according to club president Gerry Neyenhuis.
“We have about six rallys a year and we go for a week each time,” he said.
“We normally pick the smaller towns.”
Mr Neyenhuis said the group had visited Port Campbell, Timboon and Cobden as well as enjoying some of Camperdown’s local spots.
“The average spend is $500 or $600 a week (each van) which puts money into the community,” he said.
“It (the visits) generates a lot of money for these towns.”
Mr Neyenhuis said the group had enjoyedits visit.
Park spokesperson Tracy Shrubb said it had been “lovely having them”.
“They have been out exploring the area,”she said.
“They are all lovely. We do hope to welcome them back again.”
