More than 25 years ago the Cobden Rotary Club was involved with the Cobden Connection which saw the five Cobden’s of the world getting together on several occasions both in the northern and southern hemispheres.
“The five Cobden’s are in New Zealand, USA (two), Canada and of course our ownhere,” Cobden Rotary Club member Gary Kimber said.
“As part of the special international connection, Cobden Rotary and Cobden Quota Clubs combined to build a unique rotunda celebrating this getting together of Cobdenites from all over the world.”
The Rotunda was completed 25 years ago and Cobden Rotary is celebrating this milestone with a Celebratory Session at the rotunda on Wednesday, June 28 at 2.30pm.
Mr Kimber said the session will be followed by afternoon tea at Cobden Golf Club.
“As part of the celebrations, a special plaque will be unveiled honouring the late Kevin Johnston, Rotarian, who played a major role in the Cobden Connection and the building of the Rotunda,” he said.
