Car alight: Camperdown CFA members worked to extinguish a car fire last Friday.

The brigade was called to Ower Street in Camperdown at around 10.50am on Friday, November 22.

CFA District 6 assistant chief fire officer Craig Brittain said the car, a Ford Territory, was fully engulfed in flames before the attending unit extinguished the fire.

“The car was fully engulfed, and the brigade was there for a short time and extinguished the fire,” he said.

“The brigade was there for between 30–45 minutes.

“The car was out on the street, and one of the owners came out to the street to keep people away and keep people safe while waiting for the CFA to respond.”

The cause of the fire is unknown.
