Challenge for veterans
EIGHTY-three plyers from Corangamite and Ballarat Veterans’ golf associations competed in an annual challenge earlier this week.
The challenge, held at the Colac Golf Club on Monday, saw Corangamite retain the shield by .09 average stableford points.
Individual results from the day:
A grade – Kevin Robinson (Bunninyong) 38, Steve Preston (Birregurra) 37 and Phil Carman (Bunninyong) 36 points.
B grade – Kerrie Curtis (Colac) 39 on countback from Jim McMaster (Colac) 39 and Peter Devine (Colac) 35 points.
C grade – Dennis Chappell (Winchelsea) 36 on countback from John Thornton (Buninyong) 36 and John Miller (Colac) 35 points on countback.
The next event will be held on Monday, October 28 at Terang.
Anyone interested in playing veterans’ golf in Corangamite should speak with their club veteran golf delegate.
The competition is a great way to meet golfers from across the Corangamite district and play other courses, with events held fortnightly.
