Championship final approaches
THE 100Up Championship has reached the grand final stage at Mortlake Bowls Club.
Gertie McDonald and Lyn O’Shannessy will meet in the grand final play-off in the women’s competition, while for the men, Kevin Johnson will face Scott Pierce.
The original date of this Sunday, October 27 is now back on, with play set to start at 1pm.
In the A grade championships, the women’s draw saw S. Richie defeat G. Kenna, while G. MacDonald will play W. McDonald and D. Robertson will face R. Pasque.
The women’s A grade final will be on a date to be advised.
For the men, C. Baxter def L. Johnson but came up short against John Tanner.
Darren Grant will meet John Tanner in the men’s A grade final this Sunday from 1pm.
In midweek pennant last week, the first round was played in division three at home against City Emerald.
Mortlake 1 Purple (division three) lost to City 7 Emeralds 22-32.
V. Smith lost to G. Husband 10-25, D. Robertson lost to M. Smith 12-27.
This week Mortlake Purple played Timboon 3 Red and won 39-26.
D. Robertson def L. Payne 18-16, V. Smith def D. Bedggood 21-10.
The team for Mortlake Purple next week against Port Fairy 3 Red at home was unavailable before deadline but can be found on the selection board at the clubrooms.
Tuesday social pennant also played last week.
Mortlake Blue (away) defeated Cobden Red 44-34.

This week Mortlake Blue had the bye and Mortlake White was at home against Terang.
Round one of weekend pennant kicked off last Saturday.
