SIMPSON and District Lions Club members have celebrated the past year’s activities at the annual changeover dinner.

Club member Marie Van Den Broek said the end of June was always an exciting time for Lions clubs in the area.

“It’s a time for team members stepping up and taking on the roles of president, secretary and treasurer among other smaller but still important roles for the year,” she said.

Simpson and District Lions Club had its annual change-over of their executive recently with outgoing president Jason Smith handing over the leadership to incoming president John Morris for the 2022/23 season.

“John thanked the outgoing team for its work over the previous 12 months, and stated that he had “big shoes to fill” to have a successful year like the last,” she said.

“The Lions Club of Simpson look forward to continuing the projects and activities that make our club so active in keeping community spirit alive.”

Mr Morris said he also looks forward to having a “few more social occasions this year” as they were largely put on hold last year due to COVID.
