TERANG Mortlake dominated in its round 10 matches last weekend, defeating Camperdown in all games played at Leura Oval.

It was a clean sweep of the board for the Bloods, with wins across all grades of football and netball.

In the senior football, the second-placed Bloods pushed the Magpies out of the top five with a 31-point victory, 11.9.75 to 6.8.44.

The opening quarter saw both sides struggle to gain a firm lead on the board, with less than a goal separating them at the break.

In cold and wintry conditions, the second quarter provided very little in terms of scoring opportunities, with neither side able to add to the board.

The Bloods dug deep and made better use of the ball in the second half, adding seven goals while containing the Magpies to just two goals, four.

Final scores were Terang Mortlake 11.9.75 to Camperdown 6.8.44.

Ryley Hutchins, Lewis Taylor, Joe Arundell, Ben Reid, Hugh Porter and Alexander Moloney were named best for the Bloods while Hutchins kicked four, Will Kain and Taylor contributed three each and Luke McConnell added a goal to the board.

In contrast to the relatively low-scoring senior match, Terang Mortlake’s reserves had a great day out in front of the sticks, kicking 17.8.110 to finish big winners over Camperdown, 2.9.21.

Ryan Tanner bagged six goals for the Bloods, while Thomas Justin added four, Harvey Roberts three, Henry Roberts two and both Will Berryman and Jack Kenna added one goal each.

Best for the Bloods in what was a great team effort were Harvey Roberts, Thomas Justin, Ryan Tanner, Josef O’Sullivan, Will Berryman and Connor Cardwell.

The win sees the Bloods sitting fourth, percentage ahead of fifth-placed Koroit.

In the under 18.5 match the Bloods dominated the ground, winning 14.15.99 to Camperdown 3.1.19.

Ned Roberts, Tyler Vickers, Charlie Kenna, Tyson Royal, Will Layley and Mitchell Hughes were named among the best for the Bloods.

Goals went to Darcy Abbott (4), Will Layley (3), Oscar Ritchie (2), Royal (2) and one each from Hamish Hobbs, Charlie Kenna and Tyler Vickers.

The Bloods’ netballers also went home victorious, with eight wins from eight games.

Open – Terang Mortlake defeated Camperdown 72-35. Best players: Jacqui Arundell, Alice Kain and Grace Wareham.

Division one – Terang Mortlake defeated Camperdown 54-22. Best players: Claudia Lee, Jessica Baxter and Jessica Davis.

Division two – Terang Mortlake defeated Camperdown 45-18. Best: Lily Lourey and Maddison Chesshire.

Division three – Terang Mortlake defeated Camperdown 43-27. Best for the Bloods: Jacque Dickson and Meagan Carlin.

17 and under – Terang Mortlake defeated Camperdown 60-18. Best for the Bloods: Taleah Murfett, Jessica Bell and Alice Suhan.

17 and under reserves – Terang Mortlake defeated North Warrnambool 20-16. Best: Isla Primrose and Ava Conheady.

15 and under – Terang Mortlake defeated Camperdown 46-18.

Best players: Pippa Barr and Tayla Bell.

13 and under – Terang Mortlake defeated Camperdown 40-18. Best for the Bloods: Lucia Clarke and Madelyn Clarke.

Round 11 of Hampden League this Saturday will see the Bloods head to Bushfield to take on North Warrnambool.
