Last weekend’s Hampden League season opener on Saturday proved a successful one for the Bloods, with wins in all grades of football and netball
The ‘Super Saturday’ proved successful for the home side, with the senior footballers claiming a six point round one victory over the Magpies, 10.12.72 to 9.l2.66.
Ryley Hutchins led the charge with a five-goal haul, supported on the scoreboard by team-mates Will Kain, Isaac Kenna, Harvey Roberts, Wade Rosas and Xavier Vickers with a goal apiece.
Among the best for the Bloods, in what was a great team effort, were Hutchins, Alexander Moloney, Scott Carlin, Darcy Hobbs, Joe Arundell and Xavier Vickers.
The reserves celebrated a 54-point win, 13.12.90 to 5.9.39 with Lachlan Wareham booting seven majors, alongside Matthew Baxter (2), Jordan Harris (2) and Jack Lehmann (2).
Wareham was listed among the best for the Bloods, with Jordan Harris, Jack Lehmann, Josef O’Sullivan and Declan O’Connor.
The Bloods’ under 18.5s made it a trifecta for the footballers, winning by a massive 144 points – 24.16.160 to 2.4.16.
Tyler Vickers earned best on ground honours with a seven-goal haul, with Oliver Martin, Ned Roberts, Charlie Calvert, Tyson Royal and Darcy Abbott also listed among the team’s best.
Goals also went to Abbott (4), Martin (3), Roberts (3), William Bull (2) and Royal (2), with singles to Charlie Box, Charlie Calvert and Will Layley.
The Bloods’ success continued on the netball court, with wins across all senior and junior games played on Saturday.
In the open division, Terang defeated Camperdown 68-30.
Division one: Terang defeated Camperdown 56-22; best on court Claudia Lee, Mahni Wright and Rhi Davis.
Division two: Terang defeated Camperdown 50-22; best on court Maddison Chesshire, Jes Church and Sarah Davis.
Division three: Terang defeated Camperdown 41-217; best on court Amy Conheady, Georgia Gust and Holly Fowler.
Junior results were as follows:
17 and under: Terang defeated Camperdown 50-21; best on court Alice Suhan and Ava Grundy.
15 and under: Terang defeated Camperdown 42-19; best on court Lara Clarke.
13 and under: Terang defeated Camperdown 31-19; best on court McKenzie Dillon and Madelyn Clarke.
