Clean sweep for Demons

TIMBOON’S senior footballers have finished the home and away season on a high with a win over South Rovers last weekend.

The Demons thrilled their home crowd on Saturday, taking the points over the bottom side, 10.9.69 to 7.5.47.

Mitchell Wallace, Eben White and Rhys Ziegelaar kicked two goals each while Martin Angus, William Benallack, Ned Deppeler and Anthony Glennen contributed one apiece.

Best for the Demons were Mitchell Wallace, Ash Hunt, Lyndon Alsop, Eben White, Richie Moorhouse and Darcy Bridgewater.

The season also came to an end for the Demons’ reserves, finishing 10th but on a high after an 84-point win over Rovers, 15.7.97 to 2.1.13.

Richard Couch, Bayley Kelly, Ben Matthews, Iagan McKenzie, Lewis Cunnington and Isaac Jones were named in the best.

Goals went to Jake Robbins and Darcy Tribe (three each), Lewis Cunnington, Drew Kordupel and Iagan McKenzie (two each), Steven Crees, Toby Hendrix, Killian O’Dwyer and Tyler Thorburn.

It was a clean sweep on the netball courts for the Demons, winning all six games played.

A grade – Timboon Demons defeated South Rovers 44-41.

A reserve – Timboon defeated South Rovers 50-24.

B grade – Timboon defeated South Rovers 29-25.

17 and under – Timboon defeated South Rovers 46-29.

15 and under – Timboon defeated South Rovers 19-18.

13 and under – Timboon defeated South Rovers 26-24.

With the home and away series now complete, the Demons netballers can look forward to playing finals.

Both the A and B grade sides finished fifth on their respective ladders, while in the juniors, both the 17 and unders and 15 and unders finished fourth, while the 13 and under side finished on top of the ladder.
