Cobden CWA to celebrate
MONDAY will be a special day for members of the Cobden Country Women’s Association (CWA).
Members have been busily preparing for the impending 90th birthday celebrations on Monday, May 13 at the Cobden Uniting Church Hall from 10am.
Cobden CWA president Netty Hose said the group is excited about the birthday celebrations and celebrating such a large milestone.
She said members believe the Cobden CWA is the longest running association in Cobden.
Mrs Hose said a special morning tea will be on offer including the infamous CWA scones.
“Corangamite Shire mayor Kate Makin will be coming along to speak,” she said.
“We’ve also had something to celebrate mother’s day, so it’s a double celebration.
“It’s a great way to celebrate and a nice outing for people.”
Mrs Hose encouraged residents to attend the celebration, with entry $5 per person.
“We’re also doing some deliveries to business on the day for those that can’t attend,” she said.
