THREE athletes from the Camperdown Little Athletics Centre performed exceptionally well at last weekend’s cross-country carnival in Casterton.

The Little Athletics Victoria Western Country Region carnival attracted high quality fields in all age groups.

Athletes were greeted by cold, blustery weather but fortunately the rain held off for most events.

In an amazing result for Camperdown, Wilbur Reid won gold in his race.

In the under 13 girls Jackenzie Sharp won bronze, and in the under 10s Summer Sharp placed 5th.

All three athletes have qualified for the state championships at Lake Dewar in Myrniong on August 12.

While Jackenzie and Summer are unable to attend, the centre sends its best wishes to Wilbur for the state championships and congratulates all three on their performances.

Many thanks to the families who travelled to Casterton and acted as team managers and field marshals.

For any interested parents, the new season will begin early October.
