College swimmers set for regional championships
TERANG College will send its largest ever team of students to represent the school at the Greater Western Region Swimming Championships this Friday.
TERANG College will send its largest ever team of students to represent the school at the Greater Western Region Swimming Championships this Friday.
The 11 students will compete in a vide variety of events and include a number of swimmers who have qualified for the first time.
The students representing Terang College on Friday are:
Year 5 – Chloe Clifford, 10 year girls 50m butterfly (first time qualifier).
Year 6 – Parker McDougall, 11 year girls 50m backstroke; Jackenzie Sharp, 12/13 year primary girls backstroke and freestyle multiclass (first time qualifier).
Year 8 – Lynley Sharp, 12/13 secondary girls backstroke and freestyle multiclass (first time qualifier).
Year 9 – Ben Carlin, 15 year boys 50m freestyle and butterfly, 12-15 boys 100m freestyle; Edward Delaney, 15 year boys backstroke (first time qualifier).
Year 10 – Darcy Abbott, 16 year boys 50m freestyle and backstroke.
Year 12 – Ingrid Cavarsan, 18-20 girls 50m freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and 100m butterfly.
Year 12 students Chloe Anderson, Jess Beasley, Ingrid Cavarsan and Kara Gee have also qualified to compete in the 18-20 girls freestyle and medley relay.
The quartet have competed in the regional championships relay event every year sinceyear 5.
