Community bank returns to full hours
AFTER a tumultuous period of reduced hours, there was celebrations as the Cobden and Camperdown Community Bank returned to full hours this week.
Branch manager Jasmine Bakic thanked the community for its patience and was pleased to be able to announce the good news.
“We are so happy,” she said.
“I’ve been with these branches for about six months and during that whole period it’s been temporary hours.
“It’s been a very long journey for our community and staff.”
Ms Bakic said the biggest focus of the bank had been on “training and onboarding staff to be in this position”.
“Everyone is really happy and it was really nice to be finally be able to give the community a date,” she said.
“We had some great feedback from the community.
“The community has had faith in us that we were doing everything we could do, and have supported us and were quite understanding.”
Ms Bakic said the new staff members were settling in well and were a mix of local residents and people from further afield.
“The new staff are already known by members of the community,” she said.
“They are building their relationships with the community, which is really important.”
Ms Bakic said as well as thanking the community for its support, she wanted to thank the branch staff members who had worked to make the temporary hours work.
“I really want to shout out to my team,” she said.
“Without their commitment we wouldn’t be able to open.
“I’m grateful they shared the same vision as me.”
Both the Cobden and Camperdown branch are now open Monday to Thursday 9.30am to 5pm, closed for lunch between 1pm and 2pm, and 9.30am to 5pm on a Friday, with the doors closed between 1pm and 2pm for lunch.
