Coles has been a major sponsor of little athletics for five years and has donated over 14 million bananas to centres around Australia.

The Camperdown centre receives over $200 worth of bananas each week for athletes to enjoy.

Last week the centre was also lucky to be given some gifts to hand out, some social media boards and this year there was a special race starter orange.

The nightly events were again supported well by parents, with many new parents putting their hands up to assist with events.

Records were achieved and many happy athletes went home with personal bests.

The venue was a sea of smiles and a sea of red (with a splash of banana yellow).

The committee would like to thank all parents for supporting the canteen and helping to raise much needed funds for the centre.

Every dollar raised from canteen sales is directed back into the centre and we look forward to letting everyone know more about what we will be doing with the money raised in the not too distant future.

The committee also thanks Raeline for helping with photos and Sharna for canteen management this week.

An extra special thank you to Tina, who has travelled from Virginia and is visiting her grandchildren and family.

This amazing lady took it upon herself to help prepare hot food in the canteen alongside Sharna. This was much appreciated.

It is always great to welcome back families to support and help out on the night.

If any parents have photos from the night the centre would love you to post them to the group’s Facebook page or private message a committee member.

This weekend will see athletes compete at the Western Country Region relay carnival (those not competing are most welcome to go along and show support).

For those with athletes in attendance at the carnival, Krystal/Kristy will forward further information during the week as there will be some duties allocated on the day.

Next Sunday is looking to be a lovely 21 degrees so please ensure children are SunSmart and have drink bottles.

Competition uniforms have been handed out to competing families. Please see Kristy is you have not received your shirt.

Please note shorts are not provided by the centre for the event and privately purchased black shorts must be pocketless with no logo(there are some local providers who stock these).

This Friday competition will be back at the Camperdown College Sports Precinct oval at 4.15pm for a 4.30pm approximately start.

Set up will be from 3.30pm - anyone available to help set up would be much appreciated.
