THE final round of Corangamite volleyball saw Slugs hang on to fourth spot on the ladder despite another ordinary night on the court.

Strong in the early part of the season, Slugs retained enough percentage to maintain fourth place but their chances in the finals look slim.

Premiership honours appear to be a battle between NOBTS, Poachers and the Cooriemungle Bulls.

It would not surprise to see the third-placed Bulls come from behind to snatch a big win.

NOBTS deserve favouritism but lack the polish of the Bulls, while the Poachers are never going to be far away but they tend to fall off the pace when pressure is exerted.

Round seven results:

Poachers defeated Bulls 2-1, Bulls defeated Slugs 3-1, Poachers defeated Rascals 3-0, NOBTS defeated Ballbusters 4-0, Ballbusters defeated Slugs 3-1 and NOBTS defeated Rascals 3-0.

Ladder is as follows:

NOBTS 48 points, Poachers 42, Bulls 36, Slugs 24, Ballbusters 24, Rascals 4 and Megladons 2.
