Coxon led the side to an historic premiership win in the 2023/24 season after three previous grand final losses, and has been one of the competition’s premier all-rounders over the last four years.

“I’m really looking forward to the season ahead, with the challenge of trying to defend our premiership title,” Coxon said.

“We’ve pretty much kept the group together. We have a lot of fun but play hard.

“A big thankyou to the Pomborneit Cricket club for all the opportunities and support they’ve given us.”

Star all-rounder Jessica Moulden will serve as vice-captain, having been a strong leader in her four seasons at Pomborneit.

“It’s been a very easy decision to reappoint Sam and Jess in their leadership roles,” club secretary Luke Reynolds said.

“They’re strong leaders, smart cricket people, well liked around the club and have been a massive part of creating what we think is a fantastic culture around our women’s teams.”
