Crash causes outage

A LARGE number of residents in Mortlake and Noorat areas lost power last week after a vehicle struck a power pole.

Powercor crews worked to restore power to more than 1600 customers in the Mortlake and Noorat last Thursday.

A Powercor spokesperson said the outage occurred when a vehicle struck a power pole at around 6.30am.

“Crews managed to have power restored to all but 30 customers by 9.30am, with all customers restored by 12.30pm,” the spokesperson said.

“We thank customers for their patience as our team worked as safely and as quickly as possible to have power restored.

“Customers were kept up to date via our website and via SMS, where we have their details.”
