Crawley to lead Bloods
JOEL Crawley has been elected president of Terang Mortlake Football Netball Club for season 2023.

JOEL Crawley has been elected president of Terang Mortlake Football Netball Club for season 2023.
Crawley, a long-time member of the Bloods, replaces outgoing president Matt Clarke.
“Matt did an absolute power of work behind the scenes during his time as president over the past two years and for that we are all very thankful,” Crawley said.
“Because of the work he has done, my role will be that much easier; I’m really looking forward to the season ahead and the challenges it will bring.”
Crawley is a familiar face at the Bloods, having been an active member and player since his early childhood.
He enjoyed AusKick as a youngster and played junior footy at Terang before a short stint at neighboring club Kolora Noorat in his early teens and then returning to the Bloods.
“Mum and dad (Jack and Kerrie) have been long-standing, active members of the club and I’ve grown up around it,” Crawley said.
“We’re passionate Bloods members and we’re all very excited for the season ahead.
“So many clubs did it tough through the Covid pandemic so it was just great to see crowds back at the footy and netball once again this year – we hope to build on that in 2023.”
While the Bloods’ football and netball sides didn’t get a taste of finals this year, Crawley is optimistic their chance will come in the near future.
“It’s not all about premiership flags but we, like all clubs, certainly enjoy the excitement that surrounds finals footy and netball. We have picked up a few exciting recruits and will look to build on our existing lists,” Crawley said.
“I’m keen to see crowds back at the footy and netball on game day and also to see the rooms full at our Thursday night teas and social functions throughout the season. It’s all about bringing the communities from both Terang and Mortlake together.”
Football pre-season kicked off in Terang last week, with the Bloods training each Wednesday and Friday before Christmas.
“We’ll take a break over Christmas and then come back in the new year and reassess training days and times,” Crawley said.
The Bloods have re-appointed Ben Kenna as senior football coach for next season while Crawley and cousin Chris will again take on the coaching role with the reserves.
The under 18.5 team will be coached by Jason Conheady.
Under 14 premiership coach Sam Heffernan will move up the ranks next season to coach the under 16s while Lachie Barr and Clinton Baker have taken on the role of under 14 joint coaches.
The Bloods’ netballers are also in goods hands once again, with Sharni Moloney appointed senior coach.
Ellen-Rose Lee and Jess Davis will coach division one, Ash Hunger division two and Sophie Conheady and Harriet Place will be co-coaches of the Bloods’ division three.
In the junior ranks, Kym Grundy will lead the 17 and under side, Emma Lucas the 15 and unders while Kelly Mullen will coach the 13 and under team.
