Dan Tehan stops to chat
FEDERAL Member for Wannon Dan Tehan spent time in Cobden and Timboon last week talking to residents.
Mr Tehan held listening posts in both communities giving residents the opportunity to raise burning issues with him.
“The big issue is people are very, very concerned about what’s happening with hospitals,” he said.
“They know as soon as the health services go to Geelong as proposed, it will diminish health services.
“This week I have spoken confidentially to three hospital chief executive officers who have all confirmed that there is a proposal in front of the minister.”
Mr Tehan said another item being raised was about the cost of power and gas.
“We are hearing stories of elderly people in our community going to bed and sitting in coats to keep warm,” he said.
Mr Tehan called on the state and federal governments to allow more gas projects to increase the domestic availability of gas.
