Davis top team manager
TERANG Mortlake’s Jess Davis has been named team manager in Hampden League’s 2022 Netball Team of the Year.


TERANG Mortlake’s Jess Davis has been named team manager in Hampden League’s 2022 Netball Team of the Year.
Announced via livestream last weekend, the team of the year featured Cobden’s Remeny McCann, Sarah Moroney and Molly Hutt; along with Carly Watson and Annie Blackburn (South Warrnambool), Maddison Vardy and Skye Billings (North Warrnambool Eagles), Isabella Baker (Koroit), Amy Wormald (Warrnambool) and Kellie Sommerville (Hamilton Kangaroos).
Cobden’s Sophie Hinkley was named coach and Will Jamison (South Warrnambool) assistant coach.
In other league netball awards announced last weekend, Terang Mortlake’s Jacqui Arundell finished 13th in the open netball Dot Jenkins Medal with 12 votes (won by Cobden’s Remeny McCann on 33).
Also on the leaderboard were Bloods’ team-mates Aimee Moloney (4 votes), Anna Dickson (2), Emma Lucas (2), May Suhan (2), Eboni Knights (1), Maddie Solly (1) and Rhi Davis (1).
The division one Tracey Baker Medal was won by Portland’s Lauren Hockley on 24 votes.
Several Terang Mortlake players polled well including Claudia Lee (10 votes), Jessica Baxter (10), Linda Clifford (7), Sarah Davis (6), Angela Northcott (3), Ellen-Rose Lee (3), Maddie Chesshire (3) and Ava Grundy (1).
In the division two vote count, won by Port Fairy’s Kym Goonan on 23, Blood Ashleigh Hunger finished sixth on 17 votes.
Hunger was joined on the board by team-mates Kristy Crawley (11), April Harris (4), Stacey Boyd (4), Holly Fowler (3), Jes Church (3), Georgia Gust (2) and Kaitlyn Lee (2).
The Simone Moloney Medal for division three was won by Koroit’s Caitlin Blain on 29 votes.
Bloods’ to poll included Amy Conheady (13) in 12th place, followed by Olivia O’Brien (4 votes), Zoe Barker (2), Harriet Place (1), Lucy Finnerty (1), Ruby Kenna (1) and Sophie Conheady (1).
