Demons on hunt for first win
TIMBOON Demons’ senior footballers remain on the hunt for their first win of season 2024.
The Demons took on Panmure at home last weekend and while they worked hard to maintain pressure all over the ground, they struggled to keep up on the scoreboard going down by 41 points.
Panmure jumped the Demons in the first quarter, kicking 6.4 to 1.2, and then maintained their pressure throughout the afternoon, restricting the Demons’ scoring opportunities and forward 50 movements.
Final scores were Panmure 13.7.85 to Timboon 5.14.44.
Best for the home side were Ben Newey, Mitchell Wallace, Lyndon Alsop, Mitchell Gristede, Henry Stansfield and Ash Hunt.
Goals went to Kyle Delaney, Marcus Hickey, Thomas Hunt, Wallace and Rhys Ziegelaar.
In the reserves match, the Demons also went down in a low-scoring game, 1.8.14 to 6.7.43.
Best for the side were Leroy Steere, Isaac Jones, Adrian Jilich, Bailey Delaney, Bayley Kelly and Clint Watson.
It was a clean sweep for Timboon on the netball courts, with wins in all senior and junior grades.
A grade – Timboon defeated Panmure 77-43.
A reserve – Timboon defeated Panmure 39-30.
B grade – Timboon defeated Panmure 53-13.
17 and under – Timboon defeated Panmure 37-29.
15 and under – Timboon defeated Panmure 31-19.
13 and under – Timboon defeated Panmure 27-11.
