Demons resilience shines
RESILIENCE and determination have paid off for the Timboon Demons according to senior coach Carley Hickey.

RESILIENCE and determination have paid off for the Timboon Demons according to senior coach Carley Hickey.
A new-look Demons A grade outfit hit the court at the start of season 2022, with the aim to be as competitive as possible.
“We went into this season with a very new squad so our aim was to be as competitive as we possible could,” Hickey said.
“But after playing all sides we reassessed our goals and thought that making the finals would then become a focus.”
Unfortunately for the Demons, a run of illness and injuries – including an ACL to key defender Ashlee Finch, saw them struggle through the back end of the season.
However, to their credit the team worked hard and is now sitting in fifth spot and will play in this weekend’s elimination final.
“The fact that we have managed to earn ourselves a spot in the top five really is testament to the resilience, determination and grit of this young group and also to the depth of our three senior grades,” Hickey said.
“Many girls have had the opportunity to play A grade netball this season, with only one player remaining from last year’s team.”
Nine Demons players have had the opportunity to make their debut in A grade throughout season 2022, and many juniors have also had the chance to play and gain experience throughout all three senior grades.
“It has been a very rewarding and enjoyable season for us all and our A grade is very excited to be playing finals,” Hickey said.
“We’ll just do our best and see how far we can go.”
